The list of TV shows is growing and there is a large amount of stations offering some of the latest episodes of shows currently being show in Canada and the U.S.
If the interface in PPTV scares you, don't fret. You can switch the interface to English by right clicking on the 4th menu item.
The program also organizes channels and offers a TV guide of most channels currently broadcasting. From the guide, you're able to see what programs will be play today.
From the English-language side of things, programmes and channels are sorted into a variety of categories: sports, movies, news, cartoons, family, etc. The majority of English-language Hollywood movies and television series contain Chinese subtitles.
Most English shows or movies have weird names translated to Chinese so you're going to have to be creative when searching for these. Don't forget that PPTV is designed for Chinese Internet users, but be happy that most programmes are only subtitled and not dubbed.
It's also important to note that there is an Android version of PPTV available which provides many of the same features of the Windows version.
